Experiment #1: Creating Training Videos with Synthesia

Experiment #1: Creating Training Videos
with Synthesia

In our “May a Thousand Experiments Bloom” series on AI in learning, we’re starting with a powerful tool that is reshaping how training content is created: Synthesia.

Synthesia calls itself the “#1 AI video creation platform for business” – and it’s not hard to see why. For learning managers, sales teams, and field trainers who need to create content fast and in multiple languages, Synthesia offers a new way forward.

The Experiment

The Experiment

For my first experiment, I explored two key possibilities to see how quickly Synthesia can generate usable training content:

  • Possibility 1: Upload a PPT and convert it into a video.
I uploaded a product presentation, and within minutes, Synthesia converted it into a video with an AI avatar presenting the slides. The result was surprisingly good – ready to use with only minimal editing. With more time, I could refine it further to achieve a polished, “studio-quality” result.

  • Possibility 2: Upload a video and translate it to Hindi.
I took an English video and used Synthesia to automatically generate a Hindi-dubbed version. The translation and voiceover were crisp and natural, even though the Hindi text had limited editing flexibility. Still, the output was good enough to deploy quickly.

Note that both these can be achieved in the Demo Account of Synthesia – you do not need a paid out for this, yet.

Why It Matters for Learning Managers

Why It Matters for Learning Managers

Learning managers, sales leaders, and field teams constantly need to create short, engaging videos for training, updates, and communication. Doing this in local and regional languages has traditionally been a challenge, requiring high cost and lead time.

With Synthesia (and similar AI-driven tools), this barrier is rapidly disappearing. You can now create a video in English, translate it into multiple languages, and share it across teams – all in a single day.

Synthesia is becoming the “Canva for video,” with AI at its core. At Bsharp, we’re already exploring how to integrate Synthesia into Bsharp Converse, our AI-powered learning platform, so that training managers can create and share localized videos seamlessly.

What You Could Experiment

What You Could Experiment

If you want to experience the power of Synthesia yourself, here’s what you could try:

  • Experiment 1: Upload your presentation or document to Synthesia and convert it into a video. Edit the video down to the finest level of detail and granularity needed, so you experience how Synthesia handles precision.
  • Experiment 2: Take a corporate video in English, trim it to one minute, and upload it to the free video dubbing tool in Synthesia. Translate and download it in Hindi. While this might take a bit of patience, the results are worth it.

Once you complete these experiments, you’ll have a clear sense of whether Synthesia fits into your content creation workflows. After that you could go in for subscriptions, if required.

The Future of AI Video Creation

In future experiments, we’ll explore interactive AI avatars, advanced editing options, and personalized video learning experiences. But this first experiment already shows how AI is democratizing video creation.
